When Government Runs Health Care
July 6th, 2009
Here is a perfect example why we need Comrade Obama and the Democrats to fail
with their new health care plan.
In England last April the Government decided that two person Emergency crews were
not as efficient. So in their grand wisdom and knowledge, they cut the EMS crews
down to one person. Thus saving money.
When the one person showed up they would assess the situation and decide if another person
or more equipment was needed. Sounds like a great money saving idea. An idea I could
see Comrade Obama thinking is wonderful.
The problem is, when Government is in charge things go instinctively wrong.
Roy Adams, 60, a chauffeur for the Metropolitan Police, dialed 999 (our equivalent of 911)
complaining of
breathing problems and chest pains just after midnight on June 29. He was told by the
operator to leave his front door open so an ambulance crew could get to him quickly.
Along comes the Government bureaucrat EMS team, The London Ambulance Service said that two
"single responders" had been sent to the address in cars, (I guess in the eyes of the Government
two people in two cars is more effective than two people in one ambulance, that way they
can call for an ambulance later. ) and sees the door open.
Thinking something
was wrong, because the Government bureaucrat dispatcher was too stupid to remember that
he, told Mr. Adams, to leave the door open. The EMS team who had arrived 6 minutes after
the call saw the door open feared that the property was being robed. They stayed on the doorstep
carrying out a "risk assessment exercise" before calling police for support.
Now a risk assessment exercise is as I understand:
a "mental checklist" which included considering the safety of the scene, types of risk and whether
extra help or equipment was required.
This bit of Government mental work took 16 minutes, and cost Mr. Adams his life, he died at the
scene. But you will be glad to know the two single responders are safe, and the Government saved
money. See how Government health care saves money.
GOD HELP US ALL
And that's what I think!
